About VAOE
At Zebulon B. Vance High School Academy of Engineering (VAOE) it is our passion to expose and train students relative to STEM career fields. It is our vision that every student will graduate prepared to be globally competitive in their choices for college, careers, and their lives beyond high school. We are on mission to maximize student exposure and training in the professional career fields to prepare students for entry level employment in the workforce and sustainability in their lives.
Through our career and academic development center, we plan unique experiences in alignment with our work-based learning model. Academy of Engineering graduates receive an additional diploma beyond the general education diploma offered. The Academy of Engineering diploma recognizes students who complete four levels of engineering coursework and a work-based learning STEM experience with local businesses.
Vance Academy of Engineering is affiliated with National Academy Foundation, who certify our qualified graduates with preferential interviewing opportunities with large corporations such as AT&T, Verizon, Cisco, HP, and Verizon.
Furthermore, we encourage our students to take honors courses in order to maximize their training with a network of supportive teachers who help integrate common STEM design concepts in every course and who are also supported by like-minded student peers who also have a passion to pursue STEM careers.
